If you like samba, Pedra do Sal is the place to visit during your trip to Rio. Pedra do Sal is a historical and religious monument located in the neighborhood of Saúde, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was registered on November 20, 1984 by the State Institute of Cultural Heritage. A place of special importance for black Carioca culture and for lovers of samba and choro. It can be considered as the symbolic nucleus of the region called Little Africa, which was full of zungus, collective houses occupied by black slaves and linings. At Pedra do Sal, which is 100 meters from Largo da Prainha, there were great samba singers from the past, such as Donga, João da Baiana, Pixinguinha and Heitor dos Prazeres.
